Online food ordering platform Yemeksepeti is working on new delivery methods. The company, which previously used the option of delivery by autonomous robot and delivery by jet ski, is now making preparations for delivery by drone.
Yemeksepeti will deliver by drone to quickly deliver orders in areas with heavy traffic or in settlements far from the city. In this direction, experiments were carried out. Food was delivered to a boat by drone during the trial studies in the Bosphorus. Yemeksepeti published the images of this delivery.
Yemeksepeti started food delivery with jet ski
A meal order weighing approximately 3.5 kg, prepared at the restaurant on the shore, was delivered to a boat located off the Bebek district of Istanbul by drone. The order was lowered to the boat with the crane on the drone.

“The pilot project, which was realized in line with the targets of Yemeksepeti to deliver more widely and at longer distances by drone, is of great importance. Food delivery with unmanned aerial vehicles will become widespread with the updating of infrastructure and legislation and will also offer significant opportunities, especially for those living far from urban areas. Yemeksepeti, which is among the developments in this field, will continue to be a pioneer and conduct new tests in order to expand delivery by drone.”
