Fortunately, although it has not become a trend, there is a rather meaningless and dangerous activity that has appeared occasionally in recent years. Its name is ‘subway surfing’. The event of this activity, which we can translate as “subway surfing”, is to travel on top of a subway or any train and stay here. While some of them become an internet phenomenon by shooting and sharing videos while doing this activity, some of them lose their lives on the rails with errors of seconds.
Unfortunately, the second of these scenarios took place yesterday in New York. A 32-year-old man, wandering the city on top of the train, lost his balance and fell onto the tracks. Meanwhile, the train coming from the opposite direction was very close to the man.
Stuck under the oncoming train
In New York, a man died while trying to jump on the top of the train of the subway line that travels through the city. Traveling for a short time, the man lost his balance as the train passed over the Williamsburg Bridge, which connects Williamsburg with Lower East Manhattan. The 32-year-old person who fell on the rails did not have a chance to escape from the oncoming train.
The man who was under the train was found by the officers at around 04.35 in the morning. Medical teams decided that the person was dead at the scene, but his identity has not been determined yet.
