Social media platform Snapchat introduced its paid subscription package Snapchat Plus to users a few months ago. This service, which attracted the reaction of most users, seems to have achieved a positive result according to the latest news. The company announced the number of Snapchat+ users worldwide. In addition, it introduced various new features to the platform.
Snapchat+ has over 1 million users
Snapchat launched its Snapchat+ subscription service at $3.99 per month with the promise of ‘exclusive, experimental and pre-release features’. However, the company said that Snapchat+ currently has more than 1 million users worldwide. In addition, it introduced new features to its subscribers.
Plus subscribers will discover four new features starting today. The first is Priority Story Replies, which automatically makes replies visible to Snap Stars. This feature will highlight responses to the stories of creators and celebrities on the platform. Thus, Plus subscribers will be different from other users.
The other feature is more visually focused. For example, users will now be able to choose a custom emoji to close their Snaps. Thus, subscribers can change the home screen icon of Snapchat apps to remove the icon. Instead, the emoji appears next to the subscriber’s avatar.
With another feature offered, users can also customize which emoji their friends see. In this way, the friends of a non-subscribed person will see a red, blue or purple shape outline, while the friends of the subscriber will be able to see the emoji selected by the user as well as their avatars.
Finally, Snapchat Plus users will also get their own custom Bitmoji backgrounds. Along with all these features, the company also stated that it has expanded into many new markets. The service first appeared in places like the US, UK, Germany, France, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, Canada, and Australia. Now it is available in countries such as Oman, India, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Israel, Egypt, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Switzerland, Netherlands, Belgium, Finland, Ireland and Austria.
