Tesla, one of the first brands that comes to mind when it comes to electric cars, has achieved an important success in a short time. The company, which offered its first model, the Tesla Roadster, for sale in 2009, took an important step in the field of electric cars with the Tesla Model S in 2012.

1 millionth production at Gigafactory Shanghai

Tesla has played an important role in the acceptance of electric cars in the 13 years since. Now, while the company reaches significant sales figures, it is increasing the number of its facilities called Gigafactory. The most important production center of the company is located in Shanghai.

The US-based company announced that it has produced the 1 millionth electric car of Gigafactory Shanghai. Thus, despite all the problems, Tesla reached an important milestone in its new global export center. It is considered a great success that the facility, which started production in December 2019, reached this production figure within 3 years.

Just two years after starting production, Gigafactory Shanghai is by far the largest and most efficient electric vehicle factory in the world. Completing 2021 with an annual production of more than 800,000 vehicles, the facility continues to grow.

Tesla announced earlier this month that it had produced Tesla’s 3 millionth car. Just a few weeks ago, it was stated that Tesla’s Fremont factory reached a total production of two million. Gigafactory Shanghai, on the other hand, reached 1 million units much faster.

Tesla plans to increase the production speed a little more at this factory. The company aims to reach an annual production of 1 million vehicles at its Shanghai facilities. By the end of this year, the factory is expected to reach this production rate.

Gigafactory Sangay currently only manufactures Model 3 and Model Y vehicles. However, we can already say that the factory will host more vehicles in the coming years. Tesla, on the other hand, aims to increase the total production up to 20 million units by the 2030s. It is stated that the Gigafactories in Texas and Berlin will play an important role in reaching this goal.

Despite the pandemic problems experienced in Tesla, things seem to be going well in Shanghai. So what do you think about Tesla signed electric vehicles? You can share your views with us in the comments section.
