Apple may be preparing to place ads in its apps on iPhone and iPad. According to Bloomberg’s latest report, the technology giant; It wants to show ads in apps like Maps, Books and Podcasts that it has pre-installed on its devices.
Ads coming to Apple apps
The new report by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has mobilized Apple users. Showing ads in the form of “recommended apps” in the App Store, Apple will embed a similar strategy in its other apps. For example, when you search for restaurants in the Maps app, businesses that advertise to Apple will appear at the top of the search.
Gurman also said that for now, Apple will not put personalized ads in various parts of iOS, such as the Settings section. This is an ad policy used by Xiaomi for years as MIUI ads.
It is not possible to say that the ads shown in the App Store disturb users. For example, a user searching for ‘photo editing’ sees apps that pay Apple for advertising at the top of the search results.
Currently, there are no ads in iPhone applications, especially Maps. Apple, who wants to turn this situation into an opportunity, is afraid that the ad expression will create confusion. For this reason, it will place a section such as “It is an advertisement” in the content to be featured.
It is thought that an advertising subscription can also be tested for the Apple TV Plus service. While competing platforms such as Disney+ and Netflix are working on subscriptions with ads, Apple is expected to offer a low-priced advertising option.
