Facebook offered Marketplace, which works like a second-hand sales app that you can access with your own account. The fact that there are not many local delivery options on the platform makes things even more difficult. Now the company is partnering with DoorDash to get your Facebook Marketplace orders delivered to your door.

Couriers will only take orders up to 24km away

Facebook Marketplace is a service that helps sellers and buyers find each other through the platform. It is possible to shop thanks to this service without the need for any additional account or application. The purpose of this service is to offer second-hand product sales to users through a ready-made system.

The service, which first appeared in 2007, is now taking a new step for deliveries. According to a report, DoorDash will deliver items purchased via Facebook Marketplace to buyers in the near future. However, this delivery will not be available for all orders.

According to sources, couriers will only pick up orders that fit in the trunk of a car and are up to 24km away. The report also states that deliveries are expected to be completed within 48 hours. There is no information about how much DoorDash will charge for the service.

However, it has been reported that the service has been tested in some parts of the USA in recent months. Items purchased through the Marketplace are currently delivered by a service called Dolly. This service is limited to large items only.

According to The Wall Street Journal, Meta and DoorDash have confirmed that the partnership is in its early stages. Also, the allegations say that the purpose of this service is to attract young people to the Marketplace. In addition, it is stated that the service is one of some Facebook features that remains popular among young users.

DoorDash, often known as an online food ordering and delivery platform, is also expanding its revenue stream thanks to the new collaboration. Also, this partnership comes months after DoorDahs CEO Tony Xu joined Meta’s board of directors.
