Xiaomi revealed a really working humanoid robot prototype the other day and showed that it surpassed Tesla in this area. Xiaomi CyberOne is 177cm tall, weighs 52kg, nicknamed “Metal Bro” and also claims to be under the sign of Leo. After a short walk to the center of the stage, CyberOne handed Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun (for some reason) a flower, then took a selfie with the man responsible for its existence. In the end, he managed to get off the stage without any accident.
You can watch the Xiaomi CyberOne debut below:
CyberOne is the second product to come out of Xiaomi Robotics Lab after CyberDog in August 2021. The humanoid machine has a face in the form of a curved OLED panel, can see the world in 3D and hear it with two microphones. It can identify 85 types of environmental sounds and 45 classifications of human emotions. Its trunk has a total of 21 degrees of freedom, consisting of 13 joints, each of which can respond within 0.5 ms. However, it’s not as agile as Boston Dynamics’ Atlas robot.
In the surprise live demo, Lei said that for now, CyberOne will retail for around $89,100 to $104,000. Considering these prices, it seems that it will take some time to go into mass production. Until then, Xiaomi will continue to add new capabilities to its first humanoid robot.
