It has now been officially registered: July 2022 has been recorded as one of the hottest July months ever documented. While climate change heralds even warmer July, that’s the case for now.

Globally speaking, 2022 saw one of the three hottest Julys on record, according to the Copernicus Climate Change Service. July 2022 was 0.38 degrees warmer than July 1991 – 2020. The biggest reason for this was the heat waves that scorched Western Europe and America.

Hot days don’t mean enjoying the sun. When the heatwave hit Europe, there was an increase in the number of deaths from the heat. Thousands more people lost their lives compared to the previous July. At the same time, the increasing number of forest fires had a noticeable effect.

Experts continue to warn that if urgent action is not taken against global warming, it could get hotter with each passing year. Of course, the biggest task here falls to the governments and their cooperation.
