Microsoft, which is preparing to buy Activision Blizzard for $ 69 billion, has faced another game giant. Microsoft claims that in Brazil, Sony bribed developers and blocked Xbox Game Pass content.

Microsoft accuses Sony of bribing developers

The company filed a request with Brazil’s Administrative Council of Economic Defense (CADE) on Tuesday. Accordingly, Sony is allegedly trying to actively curb Game Pass’s growth by preventing certain games from appearing on Microsoft’s game streaming service.

In the allegation, Microsoft states that Sony is trying to keep their games out of PlayStation Plus by paying developers. In other words, Microsoft is concerned that some Activision Blizzard games on PlayStation Plus will become Game Pass-only after the purchase ends.

Microsoft states that the policy of exclusivity is at the center of Sony’s strategy to strengthen its presence in the gaming industry. Stating that Sony is the leader in the distribution of digital games, the company states that this attitude of Sony towards Activision content is meaningless.

The company claims Microsoft’s effort to continue expanding Game Pass has been blocked by Sony. Microsoft seems quite adamant in its allegations that Sony bribed developers to prevent them from adding content to Game Pass and other competing subscription services.

Earlier this month, Sony stated that Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard and the Call of Duty series accordingly will lead players to choose Xbox instead of PlayStation. Microsoft, on the other hand, states that Call of Duty and other games in Activision Blizzard’s portfolio will remain multiplatform.

Two big companies have come face to face in the game world. We wonder how this conflict between Sony and Microsoft, which are two of the biggest companies in the gaming world, will turn out. So what do you think about this subject? You can share your views with us in the comments section.
