Samsung introduced the long-awaited Galaxy Watch 5 and 5 Pro smartwatches. Although the new devices resemble their predecessors in design, they bring many innovations. Moreover, in terms of their features, the Galaxy Watch 5 and 5 Pro managed to outperform their competitors in the market.
First of all, let’s say that Samsung has solved the battery problem that users complained about with the devices it offered for sale this year. The 40mm Watch 5 model has a 284 mAh battery, the 44mm one has a 410 mAh battery, and the Watch 5 Pro has a 590 mAh battery. This gives the battery life up to 80 hours.
Of course, the improvements are not that much. While the Watch 5 has an aluminum body as we are used to, the Pro model has a titanium body like its 2 generations ago sibling. Both versions have a Super AMOLED panel and a screen protected by sapphire glass. In other words, the most scratch resistant material on the market is used.
The devices include the Exynos W920 Dual-Core 1.18GHz processor developed and produced by Samsung. Both models have 1.5 GB of RAM on the memory side and 16 GB of internal memory on the storage side.
On the software side, these devices using the Wear OS 3.5 operating system have the One UI Watch4.5 interface. Many certificates and features such as Bluetooth 5.2, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, 5ATM water resistance and IP68 are available on both devices.
The price of the Galaxy Watch 5 was announced as $ 279.
