With this feature, we had the opportunity to delete the messages we sent by mistake both from ourselves and from the person we sent it. In order to take advantage of this feature, we had to do the deletion action within 1 hour after the message was sent.
But as of today, this period has been extended too long. In its new announcement, the company announced that the limit for deleting WhatsApp messages has been increased to a little more than 2 days. In this way, you can now delete messages that you sent by mistake, even when you notice them two days later.

“Rethinking your message? You will now have a little over 2 days to delete your messages from your chats after you hit send.”
If you want to start deleting messages that you sent up to two days ago, first of all, a condition must be met. The update that makes this feature possible must be installed on the device of both the sender and the receiver.
