Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman reports that Apple plans to release updated Mac mini models with M2 and M2 Pro chips before the end of 2022.

According to Gurman, Apple wanted to release a Mac mini with M1 Pro at the end of last year, but the company is now considering Mac mini models with M2 and M2 Pro chips. The bad news is that this generation Mac mini will not have a refreshed design.
M2 Pro and Macbook Pro with M2 Max chip are also on the way
Earlier, 9to5Mac announced that in addition to a Mac mini model with the M2 chip and codenamed J473, Apple is developing another Mac mini model with the M2 Pro chip codenamed J474. On the other hand, Apple does not plan to release Mac mini versions with M2 Max or M2 Ultra chips.
Also, Gurman said that Apple may introduce the updated MacBook Pro with the M2 Pro and M2 Max this fall or spring 2023.
