Instagram is getting ready to test a new feature. Adam Mosseri, the head of the social media platform, announced on the weekly Ask Me Everything program that they will enter a new testing process to ensure that the photos are compatible with the full-screen Reels.
The testing process will begin in two weeks
Instagram has been working on providing a TikTok-like full-screen viewing experience to its users for a while. In this context, Mosseri has confirmed that they will start testing 9:16 format photos on the platform in a week or two, with his latest post.

The social media platform’s attempt to test 9:16 photos was not welcomed by some photographers as it would cause the photo to appear awkwardly. Whether Instagram will publish the new photo format with a stable version will be determined by the feedback in the testing process.
