Honda, one of the few companies that supply engines for Formula 1, one of the most followed motor sports in the world, announced that it would withdraw from the sector with a statement it made in the past years. According to the statements made in those years, the company made such a decision to achieve its zero emission target.

The latest statements from the Honda front revealed that the company will continue to stay in Formula 1. So much so that Honda will not sell a new engine. However, all customers, especially the Red Bull team whose engines they sell, will continue to receive technical support from Honda. According to Honda, technical support will continue until 2025.

With this decision, Honda will remain in Formula 1 for 2 more years.

In the previous statements, it was stated that Honda would provide technical support until 2023. Recent statements revealed that this period has been postponed. As a matter of fact, it should be said that the decision was positive, especially for Red Bull. Because the FIA will change engine standards by 2025. Red Bull will have continued to advance in the current order until that day comes.

By 2026, it is expected that there will be 5 companies supplying engines for Formula 1 vehicles. These companies; Audi, Porsche, Ferrari, Mercedes and Renault. By the way; Porsche has been trying to buy 50 percent of Red Bull for a while. With this move, Red Bull’s engine supplies will be undertaken by Porsche.
