Blackrock and Coinbase have partnered to expand access to crypto among institutional investors.

Crypto companies continue to rapidly form new ventures and partnerships to meet market demand. The latest move came by BlackRock, which is seen as an investment giant, and crypto exchange Coinbase. With this partnership, Aladdin’s institutional investors will take a new step into the cryptocurrency market.

Blackrock and Coinbase Partnership Target Institutional Clients

Asset management firm BlackRock has partnered with crypto exchange Coinbase (COIN) to offer crypto directly to institutional investors. Through the collaboration, mutual clients of Aladdin, BlackRock’s investment management platform, will have access to crypto trading, custody, main brokerage and reporting capabilities.

Access will be granted to Aladdin institutional crypto investors through Coinbase Prime, the integrated trading solution. Companies will continue to improve platform integration and gradually roll out updated functionality.

Stating that institutional customers are increasingly interested in digital asset markets, BlackRock global head of strategic ecosystem partnerships Joseph Chalom said about the partnership;

“The connection of Aladdin to Coinbase Prime will allow clients to directly manage their Bitcoin exposures in their existing portfolio management and trading workflows for a complete portfolio view across asset classes”
