The developers of the Solana blockchain think that the attack, which cost $ 6 million, may have originated from the Slope wallet.

The developer team of the Solana blockchain showed the software of the wallets, causing Slope and Phantom wallet users to lose $ 6 million.

“This does not appear to be a bug with the Solana core code. We think it is due to several software wallets that are popular with network users.”

More than $6 million has been withdrawn from online wallets so far.

There has been no statement from Slope so far. The developers stated that only “a group of wallets” were compromised.

Phantom developers, on the other hand, said they had good reason to believe the problem was due to complications with importing accounts from Slope.

Anatoly Yakovenko, CEO of Solana Lavs, stated that he suspected the exploit in the first place could be related to iOS, but later the allegations focused on Slope.

Commenting on the subject on Twitter, some developers expressed that they believe Slope stores the private keys of wallets in plain text on a central server.

At the time of writing, Solana is trading at $39.64, down 3.8% in the last 24 hours.
