An object seen in an image taken by the Perseverance survey probe last month on Mars sparked debates about Mars and sparked a series of speculations. This object resembled a tangled string or spaghetti. Imaging scientist Justin Maki from NASA JPL gave an explanation of what this object might be and how it got to Mars.

The object, photographed by Perseverance on July 12, disappeared on July 16.
Maki’s statement briefly says the following: Perseverance landed on the surface of Mars in February 2021. The system that landed the probe on the Martian surface had gone a safe, long distance after dropping the vehicle and crashed into the ground. It shattered from the impact and hurled pieces of debris in all directions. These pieces of debris are reflected in Perseverance’s cameras from time to time. NASA states that half a dozen pieces have been imaged in this way so far, and says this is one of them. This piece is thought to be part of the mesh holding the rover. This mesh, a type of polyester fiber, was contained within the thermal blanket used to protect the rover from the high temperatures generated during landing.
What is really impressive here is that this debris has advanced to such a distant point. The lander has landed 2 kilometers from the point where Perseverance is currently investigating. NASA states that pieces of debris are being carried by strong Martian winds. The disappearance of the piece of debris displayed after a few days also supports this theory.
