Spotify announced its new subscription prices with its announcement today. After a long period of time, the company received a great reaction after it increased its services. Unfortunately, considering the economic conditions we are in, it is not surprising that new price hikes are coming.

That wasn’t the only news from Spotify today. A small change to be added to the platform was also among the news. However, with this feature, Spotify can break the hearts of users who use the platform for free.

Shuffle and play keys separate

Those who already use Spotify know very well the button in the image above. This button, which we see when we open a playlist, allows us to shuffle the playlist directly. (Not available on artists’ albums.) Of course, this feature is pretty nice for those who create their own playlists and don’t enjoy listening to the same songs all in the same order. Spotify is preparing to divide this button in playlists into two with its new feature. So there will be two separate buttons for those who like to listen both mixed and sequentially.

However, this new feature, which will be added to the platform from the coming days, will only come to Spotify Premium subscribers. So those who use the free version will not be able to use this feature to play their playlists in shuffle or order. Although it is very nice that Spotify offers extra features for Premium users, we will see over time whether there will be users who consider switching to Premium because of such a feature. Maybe Spotify can offer many different features to its Premium subscribers after the price change, and this is just the beginning of those features.
