Japanese technology giant Sony does not neglect to develop special games for its own consoles in order to maintain its power in the console market. Sony, which has many studios that develop games for PlayStation, has added a new one to these names.
Bluepoint Games, which has made a name for itself especially with its remakes, has officially joined Sony. Thus, a new one has been added to Sony’s successive game studio purchases recently.
It’s been talked about for a long time
It was actually a long-standing claim that Sony would buy Bluepoint. Especially after Demon’s Souls was one of the promotional games of the PlayStation 5 when it was first released, the closeness between the two companies came to the fore, and this brought along with it purchase rumors.
The head of PlayStation Studios, Herman Hulst, who shared a blog post on the subject, said, “I am very excited to announce that PlayStation Studios has grown again with the addition of Bluepoint Games, one of our longtime partners.” He stated that it is a studio that has proven itself in remakes with games such as Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection and Shadow of the Colossus.
Bluepoint has already started new project
Marco Thrush, who is the chairman of Blueprint Games, said in an interview that they started working on an original game. Stating that becoming a part of PlayStation Studios helps their studios to raise the bar of quality even higher, Thrush stated that they want to make even more effective games for the PlayStation community.
Sony has recently acquired a large number of studios. Known for its success in adapting games to computers, many game developers such as Nixxes and UK-based Firesprite also came under the umbrella of Sony. There are many games that will be released for PlayStation 5.
