Because the meteorite, which was estimated to have fallen to Earth 10 million years after leaving Mars, recorded the change that both Mars and Earth had undergone for billions of years.

According to scientists, the meteorite may also answer why Mars evolved into a dry and uninhabitable place while Earth is suitable for life today.
