With the latest leak, we don’t have to wait until the fall to get an idea of what AMD’s Ryzen 7000 desktop CPUs will be like. But the source of this leak is quite interesting: AMD itself…

The company published its own tips, albeit inadvertently. Videocardz and Gizmodo have noticed that AMD’s resource page includes a listing of the first Ryzen 7000 processor models, although it has now been removed. It appears to focus primarily on high-end chips, including two Ryzen 9 variants (7900X and 7950X), a Ryzen 7 (7700X) and a Ryzen 5 model (7600X). Ryzen 3 wasn’t on the list, but that’s not surprising given that AMD has historically focused on the high end for more eager customers in the early stages of CPU deployments.

There were no technical details on the list. However, in the Computex demo, AMD showed off a 16-core CPU clocked at 5.5GHz. This illustration may represent the Ryzen 9 7950X. The entire 7000 series will be based on a new Zen 4 architecture with double Level 2 cache per core, maximum boost speeds of over 5 GHz, AI acceleration and support for technologies such as DDR5 memory and PCIe 5.0. You’ll need an AM5-compatible motherboard to make this switch, but AMD promises a 15 percent or more increase in single-threaded performance.

It is not yet clear when the Ryzen 7000 desktop series will be released or what the price will be.
