Lego has started testing Minifigure Factory, a new online minifigure maker that lets you design a Lego figure that will be completely yours.
Thanks to this new tool, you will be able to choose different heads, caps, bodies, legs and accessories for your custom minifigure. Even more personalization is possible using stickers and custom text for the body. There are also some fun accessories to choose from, such as a laptop, pretzel, and pizza. But Lego will manage the designs to prevent users from making “inappropriate” Minifigures, the Jay’s Brick Blog says. Completed figures will cost $11.99, but only one can be purchased from each household.
For folks using Lego’s online Build A Minifigure tool available in certain countries, Minifigure Factory looks pretty similar. However, this tool doesn’t offer as much body customization as the Minifigure Factory options.
Minifigure Factory is not yet available. Lego says the site has “limited availability.” Also, the company is currently calling Minifigure Factory in beta, and in a statement it says “some parts and features may not be available” and “you may also find that the site is sometimes unavailable.”
