One of these claims came from Bloomberg. According to Bloomberg, which is close to the industry and Rockstar Games, the long-awaited game will feature a female character at the center of the game. Additionally, the game will have more Grand Theft Auto: Vice City vibes than GTA V.
The first female protagonist in GTA history
Until today, the main character in the GTA series has always been male. Rockstar, which has improved women’s rights within the company and taken steps to eliminate salary inequality in recent years, will allegedly put a female lead character in the game for the first time with GTA VI. This Latin American female character won’t be the only playable character, we’ll be playing a pair of thieves. It has been claimed that this move of Rockstar, which has always taken a ‘strict’ stance on female playable characters, was made to attract the attention and approval of women’s rights defenders.
The US game company had previously brought up inequalities and bullying behaviors within the company in 2018. Afterwards, various steps were taken to eliminate this problem in the internal functioning of the company. In this process, some changes appeared in the company’s games. The sarcastic expressions towards trans people were removed in GTA V. In fact, the additional package called Cops’n Crooks, which was prepared for GTA Online and about which a lot of information was revealed, was quietly canceled after George Floyd was shot by a police officer and added to the game and pointed to the additional package. All evidence was removed.
Even if it’s fake Miami
The events that will happen in GTA VI will generally take place in a fictional version of Miami. Rockstar had taken us to this fiction before in GTA: Vice City. Although the news of Bloomberg is not called Vice City for sure, previous clues and claims also point to a return to the city we saw in the previous games of the series.
