Rick Grimes Series To Replace The Walking Dead Movies

The Walking Dead, the series that has graced our screens since 2010, is now in its 11th season. As the story to be told comes to an end, the producers, who continue to use the popularity of the brand, are also turning to new series and movies in this universe.

These productions included a trilogy with Rick Grimes, one of the beloved characters of The Walking Dead. In the statement, it was announced that this series was abandoned. It will be replaced by a special mini-series. The main character of the series will not change.

Danai Guirira, who plays Andrew Lincoln and Michonne Hawthorne, who plays Rick Grimes, one of the fans’ favorite characters in The Walking Dead, appeared before the fans at The Walking Dead panel at San Diego Comic-Con on July 22.

The duo announced that they will shoot a mini-series instead of the previously stated The Walking Dead movies. Since the characters of Ricky Grimes and Michonne Hawthorne will be at the center of both series, the wishes of the fans will also come true.

The subject of the new series, whose name is currently unknown, was also announced as “The epic love story of two characters changing with a changing world”. In the statement, it was noted that Rick and Michonne’s struggle with the dead and then the living is told in a world different from the ones they know.

Scott Gimple, who was at the beginning of the series between the fourth and eighth seasons of The Walking Dead series, will also lead this project. Lincoln and Gurira will also executive produce.

The character of Rick Grimes became one of the main characters of the series and left the series in the 9th season. Lincoln, who gave life to the character for almost 10 years, said he was very pleased to return to this role.
