Samsung is behind TSMC

On the other hand, more important customers such as mobile chipset manufacturers, CPU and GPU manufacturers are reluctant to switch to Samsung’s 3nm production process for now. The thing is that Samsung, despite the latest developments, is far behind TSMC both in the quality of its products (number of rejections) and in the physical capabilities of the chips (performance and energy efficiency).

There is a lot of evidence for this. For example, Qualcomm decided not to manufacture the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 at Samsung’s factories and instead switched to TSMC. Therefore, the Taiwanese manufacturer has nothing to worry about. Of course, Samsung will find customers for the 3nm process, but TSMC will also have the largest share of the market when it launches the N3 series in the second half of this year.
