ByteDance, which uses huge servers with billions of users, is a big chip customer. However, the chips it supplies need to be optimized according to its needs. This is reflected in time and cost. Due to the global chip crisis, it is getting harder to obtain optimized processors at this time.

The company decided to develop its own chip to avoid these costs. Video has pushed the button to develop the optimized chips it needs for hosting entertainment information applications. It has already opened 31 job positions for people with different levels of chip experience.
It is not known whether ByteDance will collaborate for its new project. Currently, RISC-V-based processors are in demand in China. The firm can also develop open source RISC-V based optimized processors.
