Cinemas started to fill up again after the COVID-19 bans were lifted. In addition, digital broadcasting platforms such as Netflix and Hulu have become increasingly common. Dozens of TV series and movie studios have begun to pay actors millions of dollars even for just one episode, in order to both get deals with the best actors and to be watched more.

After the television and cinema industry grew, a noticeable increase was observed in the salaries of the actors. Explaining how much money the actors get from movies and series, Variety shared a list that proves this increase. Top Gun: Maverick, which was released in the past months and grossed over $800 million worldwide, was at the top of the list for movies. Cruise is allegedly making $100 million or more in revenue.
