South Korean automaker Kia, which continues its activities within Hyundai, introduced its renewed crossover model Xceed at an event it organized. Focusing on interior and technical details rather than exterior design, Kia engineers seem to make Xceed one of the most popular vehicles in its segment with their work.
When we look at the exterior design of Kia Xceed, we see minor changes compared to the current version. They did not make any changes at the rear, which made minor touches to the grille of the vehicle. Xceed, which has a new equipment package called “GT-Line”, will be available with 18-inch wheels in this equipment package.
Introducing Kia Xceed
Looking at the interior of the Kia Xceed, we see the full ghost display behind the steering wheel filled with buttons. Consumers get the 10.25-inch infotainment screen as standard. This screen can be used with Google and Apple’s car interfaces. Moreover, consumers can use two phones at the same time in this vehicle. The gear knob, which has a classic design with digital air conditioning, is also among the interior design details of Kia Xceed.
The 2023 model Kia Xceed is a crossover that draws attention with its technological features. So much so that this vehicle has features such as adaptive climate control, lane tracking system, high beam assist and blind spot collision avoidance system.
Kia’s renewed crossover seems to attract the attention of consumers with its engine options. Because this car will have different engine options in different country markets. For example, some consumers will be able to purchase the Xceed with a 1.0-liter engine that offers 118 horsepower and 172 Nm of torque. A second option is a 1.5-liter engine with 158 horsepower and 253 Nm of torque. It should be noted that when this engine is preferred, the 0-100 km/h acceleration of the vehicle is 7.5 seconds.
Kia Xceed’s engine options are not limited to this. Consumers will also be able to find a 1.6-liter hybrid engine with 134 horsepower and 280 Nm of torque. This engine, which can be preferred with a 6-speed manual or 7-speed automatic transmission, will offer 320 Nm of torque when purchased with an automatic transmission.
There will also be a plug-in hybrid version of the Kia Xceed. The 44.5 kW electric motor integrated into the 1.6-liter petrol engine will provide this crossover with a total of 139 horsepower and 265 Nm of torque. The model, which will be offered for sale with a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, will come with a battery with a capacity of 8.9 kWh and will be able to be used with an uninterrupted electric motor for 60 kilometers in urban use.
The price of the 2023 Kia Xceed has not been announced for now. The crossover will be released as of September 2022.
