An important era in the Turkish automobile industry has come to an end. Honda, which has been producing in its factory in Gebze since 1997, has decided to cease its activities after 24 years. The factory, which was used to produce the company’s popular Civic model vehicles, was unfortunately officially closed after the last vehicle got off the band. Actually, this closure did not come as much of a surprise. Making an announcement in 2019, the company announced that the production at its facilities in Gebze would be stopped in September 2021. The company, which made another announcement on the subject in March, said, “Honda Turkey A. Ş. , has reached an agreement to transfer its production facilities in Gebze to HABAŞ Group. As a result of the agreement reached between the parties, the delivery date of the said real estate will be realized after September 2021.
