TikTok, which has caught a big break in recent years, is undoubtedly one of the largest social media platforms in the world. The platform, which has been adopted by a significant audience with its nearly 1.5 billion users, has recently come to the fore with its problems with the USA. The company is struggling to overcome these problems.
TikTok security chief to resign over US user data scandal
TikTok has been facing serious pressure from the US for privacy violations recently. Attacking from all sides, the USA has gripped TikTok from all sides. It seems that this pressure is starting to bear fruit. Roland Cloutier, TikTok’s director of security, is preparing to step down from his role as responsible for the privacy breach.
TikTok parent company ByteDance has admitted, albeit implicitly, to accusations of exporting the data of US citizens directed to them. The company took action and began to make some radical decisions. The first to be affected by these decisions was the TikTok security chief. According to the leaked information from the company, these resignations will continue.
On the other hand, the TikTok attacks of the USA continue to increase. In the past weeks, an important request was made to Apple and Google from the Federal Communications Board (FCC) in America. FCC official Brendan Carr asked these companies to remove TikTok from the App Store and Google Play in a two-page open letter.
In the ongoing process, the Senate Intelligence Committee took action. Democrat President Mark Warner and Republican Vice President Senator Marco Rubio called the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and ordered TikTok to be investigated shortly. It looks like TikTok will be under pressure for a long time.
