According to leaks, Mobvoi is working on a new flagship smartwatch model for TicWatch. Judging by the mail shared on Reddit, the new TicWatch smartwatch is likely to come with the Snapdragon 5100 family.

Snapdragon 5100 claim for new TicWatch flagship smartwatch

Snapdragon’s post on Twitter was the first signal for the 5100 series smartwatch processor. Shortly after this signal, some features leaked for TicWatch’s new flagship.

The resulting features are as follows:

  • long-term battery
  • NFC payment compatible with Google Pay
  • IP68 waterproof, GPS, speaker and microphone
  • New IHB/AFiB detection and fatigue assessment
  • Enhanced premium design, flagship model

In these notes written in the mail, especially long-term battery life draws attention. The TicWatch Pro 3 Ultra model, which is currently the flagship model of the company, has a battery life of 72 hours. The possibility of this note in the mail to mean a much longer battery life is high.

In this sense, it is among the first information that the 5100 series processors, which will replace the Snapdragon 4100, will make significant improvements in battery life. Especially the flagship smartwatch emphasis in the mail is among the clear proofs that the new Snapdragon 5100 or 5100 Plus processor will be used.

It is also expected that the new TicWatch smartwatch will measure heart rhythm much more successfully with the new IHB/AFiB sensor. Mobvoi developed this special sensor to measure heart rhythm in much more detail. In this sense, the company has succeeded in getting ahead of many smartwatch manufacturers in terms of accurate heart rhythm measurement.

It is known that the new Snapdragon 5100 and 5100 Plus processors are produced with 4nm processor architecture. In this sense, the processors will come up with four 1.7 GHz ARM Cortex-A53 cores. The processors, which will come with 700 Mhz Adreno 702 GPU as graphics processors, will also have Bluetooth 5.2, LTE and LPDDR4X RAM support up to 4 GB. It is among the expectations that the new Snapdragon smartwatch processors will appear very soon. In this sense, it is also a matter of curiosity how the new processors offer a long battery life.
