A new era begins in the tension between Twitter and Elon Musk. The social media platform had applied to the court to keep Elon Musk in a $44 billion acquisition deal. A judge will hear arguments on July 19 about Twitter asking Musk to be prosecuted in September.
Twitter wants to keep Musk in the deal
After Elon Musk announced that he had given up on buying Twitter earlier this month, Twitter applied to the Delaware Chancery Court to secure the purchase agreement.
Musk said that the number of fake accounts on the platform was misreported to its parties and that the company hid the details in order for the purchase agreement to take place. In response, the company claimed that they shared all the data and that Musk made unreasonable demands.
Twitter’s arguments will be heard for 90 minutes on July 19 to see if the company was justified in seeking a hearing in September. If the process proceeds as the platform wants, Musk will be prosecuted regarding the purchase agreement. According to the information that has emerged, Musk’s team wants the case not to be made until February 13, 2023.
