How many billions will the world population be?
The United Nations organization, which has published a new report called World Population Prospects, predicts that the world population will be 8 billion by mid-November. Thus, before the end of the year, a new record is broken.
According to the World Bank, the population in 2020 was around 7.753 billion. In other words, there was an increase of 250 million people in 2 years. According to some nettrics, the population is now approaching 7.96 billion. So the prediction is very close to coming true.
While the world population will exceed the 8.5 billion threshold in 2030, it will reach 9.7 billion in 2050 and 10.4 billion in 2080. Congo, India, Nigeria, Pakistan, Egypt and the Philippines and Tanzania will be the countries with the fastest population increases. Accordingly, the population growth in the most populous countries, China and India, is expected to slow down, albeit partially. Other information in the report is that the male population will be 50.3% in 2050. In other words, 28 years from now, the male and female populations are equalized.
