Is Marvel Starting to Break Up?

After seeing the peak with Avengers: Endgame, Marvel started to visibly compromise its old quality; What does he want to do, where does he want to reach, by applying some meaningless ideas?

READING NOW Is Marvel Starting to Break Up?

Marvel, which we know by consistently making good movies, has now begun to falter in its latest productions. In fact, Kevin Feige has done admirable work all these years, but he will have lost himself to the self-confidence that “everything I do is working anyway”, and the reflections of this situation are clearly seen in the latest Marvel films.

For example; Although he accomplished the impossible by bringing together three Spider-Mans, this production consisted of only fan-service, it had serious problems in the cinematic sense. However, it can be said that it is even good compared to productions from this period, for old times’ sake.

Even the memory of the old days may not save Marvel at this rate. There is a noticeable mediocrity in his latest productions, both in the vision and in Disney+. So what could be the reason for all this?

Thor: Love and Thunder, which has just been released, has also joined the caravan of films that cannot taste old.

It would be unfair to call the movie bad, but it is obvious that it is not good. The scores he received also confirm us; It fell short of expectations, scoring 67% on Rotten Tomatoes, 7.0 on IMDb and 57 on Metacritic. These points will drop even more in a few days.

The plot of the film grins a lot, the scenes are cut abruptly and we find ourselves in a completely different land. But that wasn’t the most serious problem in the movie. The dose of comedy is so much that you feel like you are watching Asterix and Obelix.

Scenes like Zeus descending the stairs, women fainting after seeing Thor’s body are seriously what the fuck? The humor rate in Thor: Ragnarok was just off the mark, but now it’s out of the question. They may not even take themselves seriously. Of course, we don’t say don’t do comedy, but if you’re going to do it, you should do it like Deadpool.

Moreover, there is a character like Gorr, who has a very dramatic and dark story; Come on, shame on that character, you should at least show some respect to Christian Bale.

However, how charismatic the character of Hela in Ragnarok was, we expected Gorr to be given the same attention, but due to this seriousness, the feeling of tension in those black-and-white scenes fades very quickly. However, if they spread the atmosphere in those scenes throughout the movie, maybe we could watch one of the best superhero movies ever made.

There shouldn’t even be Zeus, because now we have become a mythological god inside and out.

You can say “E Thor is also a mythological god”, but the mythology factor was not that dominant in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in general. We were watching a universe that was closer to science fiction, they were trying to add realism to even the fantastic elements, but it is clear that they do not have such a concern anymore, the Marvel universe has now definitely evolved into fantasy.

This will be a bit of spoiler, but it has already been revealed that Thor’s new rival will be Hercules, now we are seriously watching the mythology universe. We’re in a position to not be surprised if Thor does indeed fight Asterix and Obelix soon.

The Moon Knight series, on the other hand, deals with Egyptian mythology exactly.

Moon Knight is a likeable character, but it’s not wise to include every mythology in the world in this universe. The character could have been directly included in a different series or movie without mentioning much about his past. Still, I have to congratulate Oscar Isaac and Ethan Hawke for their individual efforts in this series, their acting was fantastic.

We also saw Chinese mythology in Shang-Chi.

The movie is already one of the cheapest things Marvel has ever done. Are we watching Narnia bro? Yes, the world in comics is huge, but this exaggeration is not appropriate for the cinematic universe. In a universe with Tony Stark and Steve Rogers, there should be no Greek mythology, no Egyptian mythology, no Chinese mythology.

In fact, even though the idea of including mythology was bad, they could have managed to feed it properly, but that was not possible either.

Because basically there are many problems. Storytelling was what Marvel did best, but now we are presented with inconsistent, boring, exaggerated stories. We saw the clearest example of this in productions such as Black Widow and Eternals. Even if you watched these movies at x2 speed, time would still pass.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness was more elaborate, but still well below expectations. The heroes in the alternate universe were puppet characters. If they were in this universe, could they die so simply? This lowers the credibility a lot. We’re starting to see a universe reverting entirely to popcorn.

Marvel has now moved away from the “little but self-made” rule due to concerns about producing a lot of content for Disney+.

For example, a separate series will be made for the Echo character we saw in Hawkeye, has anyone really adopted this character? The reason why they even make a series with such supporting characters is purely the product of multiple content production plans for Disney+. They’re even making a TV show on the outside. Because of this love of mass production, a world of poor quality work emerges.

Visual effects quality has also decreased due to mass production. If the effects were a little worse, it would be no different from the absurd disaster movies that Kanal D puts on at midnight.

VFX employees stated that they complained about this situation. Marvel allegedly demands unrealistic deadlines, resulting in employees working overtime for weeks.

Employees are running out due to pressure and high stress. As a result of such a working environment, we see such bad effects when good works cannot come out.

The parachute scenes in Black Widow were shot better even in the ’90s. If the effects in the accident scene in Moon Knight were a little worse, the hell effect in STV could have done a good job. Hakan: As long as the effects of the Guardian continue, it will undoubtedly lose its mass at this rate.

Marvel also seriously exaggerated the hearing loss business. The choices they make with the sjw head can backfire badly.

They are unable to understand the difference between being truly sensitive and being deaf. The way they portray LGBT+ people is disturbing even for LGBT+ people. “Look, he’s gay!” when introducing your gay friend to someone. You don’t say, this is disturbing. But Marvel exaggerates it.

We saw the last example of this in Thor: Love and Thunder. He cut the flow of the scene and said, “Yeah, now let’s show that this character is actually gay!” fictions like this are not cinematic, we need to learn that the character is gay without disturbing the flow. They need to go and watch some Brokeback Mountain to do a decent job.

A black director for a black character, a female director for a female character, a Far Eastern director for a Far Eastern character, a Muslim director for a Muslim character…

Because Anthony Mackie is black in the new Captain America movie, a black director was really needed and Julius Onah was chosen? Should the slanted-eyed Destin Daniel Cretton have directed Shang-chi? (He’s from Hawaii, not even Far East). They pushed the limits of exaggeration about sensitization, Ms. Did Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah direct Marvel for the same reason?

Unfortunately, examples of this started to be seen a lot in Marvel. However, if the director had to be from a similar culture in order to describe a certain culture, we would not be able to watch Life of Pi (Indian culture) by Ang Lee (Taiwanese) or Slumdog Millionaire (Indian culture) by Danny Boyle (Irish-British).

We watched one of the most ridiculous scenes in the Marvel universe in Avengers: Endgame because they said, “Let’s play some feminists.”

Only women find each other in the huge battlefield, if you eat them. Zero credibility!

It turns out that Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans retired just in time from Marvel.

If Marvel continues like this, stop watching it in the cinema, it will neither have an audience on Disney + nor on the Disney Channel they really appeal to.

In summary; There is no trace of Marvel’s old self now, but still keep hopes…
