Elon Musk’s announcement that he gave up on buying Twitter ignited a brand new discussion. The social media giant stated that it would take legal steps after the agreement was terminated, arguing that the justifications were “invalid and unfair”. According to the latest information, the company did what it said. Twitter is in court with Elon Musk.

Twitter sued Elon Musk

Tensions between Twitter and Elon Musk peaked. Tesla and SpaceX CEO suspended the $44 billion deal, announced in April, after the company announced that the number of spam and bot accounts on the platform was 5 percent, and announced that it had completely canceled it a short time ago.

Elon Musk claims that he was not given the right in this process. Because, according to the private research of the businessman, the number of spam and bot accounts is 4 times what Twitter announced. As this is the case, the ropes between the two sides have been stretched day by day and have been completely broken in the past days.

Twitter has announced that it will take legal action after Elon Musk’s announcement of termination. The company kept its word and officially took Musk to court. To win the case, the firm entered into a deal with the highly experienced law firm of Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz.

Twitter’s goal in the lawsuit filed in Delaware Chancery Court is to get Musk to buy the company, as he had previously promised. In this context, the company, which claims that its legal obligations are not fulfilled, will defend the invalid and unfair termination grounds that it has stated before and will fight for a positive result on its behalf.

Elon Musk made a sarcastic post on Twitter some time before the lawsuit. In the post, he mocked the company, referring to the fact that spam and bot account data, which he believed had not been properly shared before, would be most clearly disclosed in court in public.

Musk’s post includes the following statements;

They said I couldn’t buy Twitter.

Afterwards, they refused to share bot information.

Now they’re forcing me to buy Twitter through court.

But they will have to share bot information in court.
