WhatsApp recently started offering the option to react to messages with emoji. At first, only six emoji were available. Now, the limit on the number of these emojis has been lifted and users can react with any emoji they want.
“We’re rolling out the ability to use any emoji as a reaction on WhatsApp,” wrote Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, adding that his favorite emojis are ????♂️, ????, ???? and ???? declared that.
Emoji reactions are a nice way to keep communication short or to quickly indicate to the sender of a message that you find their joke funny (or not). To use any emoji as a reaction, you need to long press a message and tap the + icon that appears on the right. When you press any of the incoming emoji list, WhatsApp displays these emoji in the messaging in response.
A similar feature has been available on Telegram and Instagram for a long time, but to react with emojis in Telegram, it is necessary to have a premium membership, which costs $ 5 per month.
