One of the models released by Ford, which entered the electric car market, was the Mustang Mach-E, the electric version of the legendary series Mustang. The company is now recalling a significant number of these cars. The reason for this decision is the problems with the panoramic screen and the windshield.

According to the statement from Ford, which has sold about 18 thousand electric SUVs so far, about 13 thousand of these vehicles seem to be problematic. In the statement, it was stated that the windshields and panoramic roofs of the vehicles leaked or, in worse scenarios, they could be thrown out at the time of collision or even just while driving on the road.

No problems so far:

Ford cars will do the recall in stages. It was stated that there has been no problem so far before the recall process, which will begin in the USA in late October. In Canada, the recall process has already begun.

The company recently told the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that they noticed the problem with the windshield and panoramic roof, and that they sometimes observed that these parts were not attached to the vehicle as they should. The cause of the problem has not yet been determined.

Ford’s first electric model:

The Mustang Mach-E was the first mass-produced electric car from the US automaker. So far, the process of launching the vehicle has been quite painful. Previously, it was revealed that some of the screws inside the vehicle were not installed correctly and were loose. The delivery of the first batch of vehicles was therefore delayed. Also, some of the early vehicles had a software problem that caused the battery to die prematurely.

Panoramic glass roofs have become a very common feature in electric models. Tesla also offers a glass roof as standard in its vehicles. Tesla had similar problems with Model Y SUVs.
