Twentify, a research firm, shared the results of its research titled “Z Generation in Turkey”. The results of the research; revealed that young people live on 25 TL per day and 4 out of 10 young people only have travel money in a month.
In the research conducted to better understand the Z generation; It was determined that the biggest obstacle in front of the things that young individuals most want to do but cannot do is “insufficient income”.
1998 young people participated in the study:
The research conducted by Twentify was organized with the participation of 1998 young people between the ages of 15-24 from Turkey. It was stated that the results of the evaluation of the research rejected the view that “the young people eat in front of them, they do not eat behind them, and they have no problems” put forward by some segments of the society. The research revealed the inadequacy of the financial and social conditions of the young people.
The biggest obstacle is insufficient financial income:
The research showed that, considering the living conditions of the young people, they shared the house they lived in with 3 other people, and that 66% of these houses were owned by the families of the young people. The research also determined that the young people who took into account that they received an allowance of approximately 750 TL per month, spent only 25 TL per day, and 4 out of 10 young people had only travel money during the month.
In the study, in which the social lives of the young society were also evaluated; It turned out that in their spare time, young people mostly watch something, go to the mall, do sports or play games. In the research report, the most important obstacle in front of the things that young people want to do but unfortunately cannot do; It was determined that they did not have sufficient financial resources. According to the report, the sport that young people most want to do but cannot do is swimming.
According to the study, in which digital consumption, which has become the lifestyle of the Z generation, was evaluated, it was recorded that young people watch TV series and movie-like content 4 times a week, play games 4 times and spend an average of 2.5 hours in front of the screen at a time.
