First Full Color Images from the Webb Space Telescope

The James Webb Space Telescope, NASA's new tool for space exploration, continues to send new images. The space agency will now break new ground and share some of these images in full color.

After the Hubble Space Telescope, our eyes will now be on the James Webb Space Telescope in its mission to explore space. The first fully colored images from this new eye, which we have erected into the eternity of the universe, will soon be before us.

NASA shares to be made on July 12 are expected with great interest in this respect. After six months, we will have the opportunity to look at the data and images collected by the newly opened observatory for the first time. NASA also increases the excitement for July 12 with its sharing.

Webb telescope finally operational

After the Webb telescope became operational, it was in the process of calibration, fine-tuning and focusing. With the completion of the process, the telescope is also commissioned for selected space exploration projects. These tasks include studying the atmospheres of exoplanets and moons of other planets in our system.

Images from the James Webb Space Telescope will be revealed by processing raw data collected over months. Thus, both scientists and the public will have an idea about what we can expect from the space telescope.

NASA chose 5 different images for this purpose. Two of these images will feature nebulae. Galaxy clusters will be found in two images. According to NASA, one of these clumps is so large that it refracts light passing around it, acting as a gravitational lens.

In the last image, there will be spectrographic analysis of the atmosphere of a planet with a mass of half the mass of Jupiter. In this analysis method, it is aimed to determine the substances in the atmosphere and the amounts of these substances by examining the light beams passing through the atmosphere of the planet. All five images came from Webb’s initial target, the Stephan Quintet, discovered in 1877, and surrounding celestial bodies.
