The esports industry, which is growing rapidly in Turkey as well as all over the world, attracts the attention of investors and players in this respect. So much so that, although it seems like a remote possibility for now, there are even opinions that esports may take place in the 2028 Los Angeles Summer Olympics. It is not known whether this will happen, but it is obvious that esports will continue its growth momentum even without being among the Olympic games.
The organization responsible for the development and supervision of esports in Turkey is the Turkish E-Sports Federation (TESFED), which was established in 2018 under the Ministry of Youth and Sports. Esports, whose reputation is gradually increasing with the events of TESFED and the gradual entry of famous sports teams into the sector, makes many people dream of turning their passion for gaming into a profession. The first step for this is to obtain an esports license.
What you need to do to get an esports license is quite simple:
There are some documents that need to be collected in the first place. Among them;
- Health declaration document to be downloaded and filled from TESFED’s website,
- TR ID card photocopy (after taking it, it is necessary to sign it by writing “it belongs to me” on a blank part of the paper),
- 1 registration slip to be downloaded and filled from the website of the Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports of the province,
- 2 passport photos
After the documents are collected, they must be submitted to the Registry License Department of the Provincial and District Directorates of Youth and Sports for the review and approval process. No fee is paid for the esports license at any stage of the process. Once approved, you can have your license.
The application for the esports license can be made by the person himself or by his/her parent or manager. The only condition for obtaining a license is to be over 6 years old.
