Google Chrome, one of today’s most popular web browsers, seems to eliminate the inefficient use of system resources. A new feature has been discovered in the Chrome OS developer channels that will offer both an increase in performance and a longer battery life.
It will reduce the CPU load
As it is known, Google Chrome puts the tabs that are inactive for more than five minutes into sleep mode, allowing them to run the JavaScript code once a minute. The newly discovered “Quick Intensive Throttling after loading” feature, on the other hand, aims to improve CPU load by about 10 percent by replacing this default five-minute duration with 10 seconds.
Although Google aims to save on processor load by reducing the sleep time of pages, it is not yet known how much of an improvement will be made on the memory usage side. However, the new feature is expected to come to all platforms in the coming months, including Windows, Chrome OS, Linux, macOS and Android.
