Spatial sound experience, which has recently been seen as an advantage especially in the music services industry, now finds a place for itself in content platforms. Netflix has opened the spatial audio experience to all devices this week.

The spatial sound experience, which creates the feeling that the sound is coming from different points, is built-in for Apple devices using iOS 15.1 version and Apple headphones. For non-Apple devices, Sennheiser comes into play.
Netflix has included the technology used in the Sennheiser Ambeo model for other devices. This technology creates 3D spatial sound using stereo speakers. No additional features are required on the device and all operations are carried out within the Netflix application.
In this way, smart phones, tablets and smart televisions will have easy access to the spatial sound feature. Currently, some of the Netflix original productions offer spatial audio support. Users need to search within the application. It is also stated that content with Dolby Atmos and 5.1 logos is not suitable for spatial sound.
