The failure of technology giants to prevent cyber-attacks despite all the measures taken leads to huge data losses. AMD is dealing with a 450Gb data leak that fell into the hands of cyber attackers.
AMD data stolen
RansomHouse, which was established with the motto of obtaining the stolen data of the companies from the attackers for money and returning them to the company, announced that they have 450Gb of data about AMD. The file contains network data, system information and passwords. The group underlined that systems were infiltrated with weak passwords and that no special ransomware was used.
The leaked data is very risky because it may be possible to access AMD’s top secret chip designs with internal passwords. This means that future projects such as Zen 5 and CDNA 4 are leaked to the Internet.
AMD announced in a statement that they are aware of the developments about some groups stealing 450Gb of data and they are in the process of investigation. However, it is very difficult to understand how such critical data fell into the hands of attackers.
