If you’ve played Modern Warfare, we don’t need to introduce Captain John Price, whose name is officially integrated with the series itself. Because he is a character who has made a throne in the hearts of Call of Duty lovers with his loving sense of humor underlying his extremely dangerous military identity – and for some other reasons.
For many years, Price turned the tide of war in favor of the good guys, leading heroes on important missions with his distinctively heavy British accent. Do not look at what we call years; When we say years, we are actually talking about decades.
As Call of Duty spawned multiple conflicts over multiple eras, this dragged Price along; however, this calculation does not fit well with a normal human lifespan. This is where we step in and take a closer look at Price’s career for some possible answers.
First meeting with Captain John Price
We met Price during the first Call of Duty events during World War II, which, historically speaking, falls between September 1, 1939 and September 2, 1945. Going even deeper: Although its current age is unknown, its first mission is the capture of the Pegasus Bridge, which historically took place on June 6, 1944.
After this assignment, Price took an active part in the battle of Caen, which took place between June and August 1944. During this mission, as in the first mission, we do not know Price’s age; however, we might compare Price with Lofty Wiseman, the youngest person to join the war in the 18th Regiment. Price looks over 18, but in this case we’ll assume he’s the older-looking, mustache-bearing kid at school that everyone knows his name.
Price allegedly lost his life during the sabotage of the German Armored Tirpitz on October 27, 1944. Playing through the eyes of Sergeant Evans, after destroying the engines, we see Price’s body lying motionless on the floor of the engine room, as if he had died in the shootout; however, as the mission is still ongoing, we don’t have time to stop and check Price’s vital signs.
Jumping in time to 1996, we encounter a very familiar face that must have aged by now; Captain John Price. Working with Captain MacMillian, this Lieutenant named John Price has very similar characteristics to our WWII veteran. As mentioned in CoD: Infinity War, Price was born in November 1953, which means Price was 43 years old at the time of this mission. Taking into account that the next three Modern Warfare games were set between 2011-17, that makes Price 64 years old the last time we saw him.
The two John Price we meet are too similar to be different people. The second Price, in particular, has the look and agility of someone 30 years younger than he is, as if he had discovered the fountain of youth. We can rule out the option that Price is a vampire, depending on whether he blazes in the sun or not. Well, since he defeated the worst men in the world, he couldn’t have sold his soul to the devil. . . In that case, there must be another logical explanation for Price’s supposed immortality.
Is Captain Price immortal?
If we compare all his appearances in Call of Duty games, we can say that Price definitely ages at a much slower rate than a normal person. And that’s not the only thing abnormal: There are moments when Price shows superior signs of recovery. For example; Towards the end of Modern Warfare 2, Price and Soap face off against our enemy Shepherd in the final battle. During the mission, Price and Shepherd fight each other to the death when Soap is neutralized by a critical stab to the chest. With Shepherd gaining the upper hand, Price’s face takes more hits than any boxer would in his career.
Soap somehow saves the day; but the strange thing is that Price regained consciousness in less than a minute, walking towards Soap as if it wasn’t him who had just taken all the blows, and almost no scars etc. on his face. without going to the rescue helicopter. This is a divine level healing power, as you will be right.
Could Price be a Captain America-like case?
Considering all this, can we say that Price was the result of a military experiment? It is a well-known fact that during World War II, the Nazis experimented on soldiers using methamphetamine, steroids and oxidants to enable them to withstand harsher and harsher conditions for longer. What we don’t know is; That the Allied Powers also experimented with drugs of a very similar nature.
Another example of illegal and unethical human experimentation sanctioned by the Allies was the notorious MKUltra. Managed by the CIA, MKUltra was a series of programs whose ultimate goal was to control the minds of human test subjects. Is it just a coincidence that this program was officially approved in 1953, the year the second Price was born?

Why isn’t Price missing in future Call of Duty games?
Naturally, “If Price is an incredible, undead super soldier created by the government, why don’t we see him in any of the future CoD games?” You may be thinking.

CoD: Advanced Warfare has come with many new technologies when it comes to empowering soldiers on the field. We’re talking invisibility cloaks, AI-controlled drones, nano-bots, biomechanical limbs, and exoskeleton suits that turn ordinary soldiers into incredibly powerful killing machines. That being the case, an experiment like Price would have been found to be limited and inadequate with the technology available at the time.
If there are two things we can take away from this theory, it is this. War is war no matter what the future brings, and whatever the theories, Captain John Price will always remain a very special character.
