2K announced that Michael Jordan, who was selected as a 14-time NBA All-Star, five-time Kia NBA Most Valuable Player, six-time NBA Champion and Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame, will be featured on the cover of NBA 2K23 Michael Jordan Edition and NBA 2K23 Championship Edition.
Michael Jordan’s career, which transformed the NBA into a global phenomenon, made him a well-known name in the world and made a huge impact in the basketball world. While the 24th anniversary of NBA 2K is being prepared with the theme of ‘Answer the Call’, Jordan stands out as the symbol of this theme. Making the most of the opportunities that have come his way throughout his career, Jordan returns on the cover of two versions of NBA 2K23, meeting both old and new fans.
“After Jordan made 23 the most recognizable number in the sport, we had to present the Michael Jordan Edition for NBA 2K23,” said Alfie Brody, VP of Global Marketing Strategy for NBA 2K. In addition, the new premium version we are excited to introduce, 2K23 Championship Edition, no player fills the word “champion” as much as Jordan. This limited edition will also offer the chance to watch the players on the field with a 12-month NBA League Pass* subscription. “We’re looking forward to its September 9 release date to celebrate the game with the community.”
Players will be able to recreate 15 iconic moments in the legendary player’s career in The Jordan Challenge mode in NBA 2K23, where Michael Jordan adorned the cover. Ten original challenges in NBA 2K11 were built from the ground up, while five new iconic Jordan moments were added for a new generation of players to experience. Drawing on more than a decade of technological advances, these ‘challenges’ open up a new way to relive Jordan’s achievements.
The Jordan Challenge also gives you the chance to experience the legendary player’s 15 different experiences in his career in college, NBA and USA National Basketball Team, accompanied by special comments and videos from Jordan’s teammates, rivals and prominent names of the sport. More information on NBA 2K23’s Jordan Challenge mode will be revealed this summer.
Michael Jordan, one of the most successful names in NBA and NBA 2K history, will be on the cover of NBA 2K for the fourth time with NBA 2K23 Michael Jordan Edition and NBA 2K23 Championship Edition. Jordan previously appeared on the cover of NBA 2K11, NBA 2K12 and NBA 2K16 Speical Edition. More information on the covers will also be announced on July 7, when pre-order opens.
