Organizing a new presentation in Shenzhen, China about 13th generation Raptor Lake processors, Intel shared the memory details that will be supported by the new platform.
It comes with support for DDR5-5600 and DDR4-3200
Including the new generation Raptor Lake-S architecture in the shared presentation images, the company has officially confirmed that the processors will support DDR5-5600 and DDR4-3200 memory. Compared to Alder Lake, we can say that the shared speeds will remain the same on the DDR4 side, but will increase from 4800 to 5600 in DDR5 memory.
In addition, the new platform seems to receive support for more PCIe 4.0 lanes via the chipset, but there is no mention of an additional PCIe 5.0 lane in the images. However, Raptor Lake-S’s PCIe 5.0 lane will be limited to 16 lanes over CPU only, split between storage and GPU. Based on the same Intel 7 processing technology as Alder Lake, Intel Raptor Lake processors are expected to launch around October this year.
