Flagship with a history of 45 years: The new BMW 7 series has been renewed and a very ambitious model has emerged from its design to its features. While the changes in the preliminary design were highly discussed, they started to be produced in the Dingolfing Factory with internal combustion and full electric motor versions.
The facility, which will start the production of the Plug-in Hybrid engine version of the car, whose details we have shared with you in the past months, will thus be producing the New BMW 7 Series with three different engines under the same roof.
The Dingolfing Factory, which is undergoing a radical transformation in line with its new production vision, not only saves millions of Euros for the BMW Group in line with the optimized production line and logistics requirements for the production of the new BMW 7 Series, but also sets an example as a less polluting facility.
By the end of 2022, one in four BMWs produced at this factory is aimed to be electric, while it is aimed that approximately 50 percent of the plant’s total production will consist of fully electric cars.
The new BMW 7 series offers different power alternatives
The iX, the flagship of BMW’s electric product range, the New 7 Series that will meet the roads in 2022, and its fully electric version, the i7, symbolize the luxury segment electromobility owned by the Dingolfing Factory.
The new vehicle will be available in Europe for the first time with the fully electric BMW i7 xDrive60 version. This model, which offers a range of up to 625 km according to WLTP norms, is driven by two electric motors located on the front and rear axles. Producing a total of 544 horsepower and 745 Nm of torque, the New BMW 7 Series i7 xDrive60 can reach from 10 percent to 80 percent occupancy at the DC charging station in just 34 minutes.
The new BMW M760e xDrive stands out as one of the most powerful engine options in the new series. This model with Plug-in Hybrid technology produces 571 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque.
The new BMW 7 Series with Plug-in Hybrid engine, which is planned to be sold in many markets at the beginning of 2023, has the 5th generation of eDrive technology, just like the all-electric model. Thanks to this technology, the car can travel 80 km on electricity alone.
The 740d xDrive diesel engine version is among the alternative engines of the new vehicle. The new BMW 7 Series models with this 300 horsepower unit are expected to take their place on the European market in the spring of 2023.
