According to TechCrunch, Meta-owned Instagram makes it possible to delete accounts through the app to comply with Apple’s new App Store rules. According to the new rules of the App Store, platforms that allow registration through the application must also allow account deletion. Instagram spokesperson; stated that they want to offer more ways for people to control their Instagram experience and the time they spend on the platform. In addition, users who want to control the use of the platform will be able to temporarily close their accounts through the application.
Instagram users will be able to delete their accounts by going to the Profile tab on iOS and then the Account tab. In addition, users will be given 30 days to delete their accounts, during which time users will be able to change their minds.
