Popular social media platform Reddit continues to invest in machine learning projects. The natural language processing firm has acquired MeaningCloud for an undisclosed price, according to the latest statement from the company.
Reddit acquires natural language processing firm MeaningCloud
Reddit is one of the companies that have increased their targets in machine language. MeaningCloud, which specializes in extracting meaning from unstructured content, was known for analyzing conversations on Reddit.
Established in 2015, the Spain-based firm is working on the classification of unstructured data. The MeaningCloud algorithm, which currently offers suggestions to users on the Reddit interface, can evaluate web content thanks to natural language processing.
This acquisition will also make it possible for Reddit to enter the European market. The platform, which will have an office in Spain, is popularly preferred in countries such as the USA and Canada today. However, with investment in the natural language processing firm, it will be possible to expand it in other languages.
