The house where the Conjuring series, the first film of which was released in 2013 and received great acclaim, was shot, was put up for sale twice in two years. It was noted that the current price of the house is three times higher than the previous price.

Located in Harrisville, Rhode Island, the house was built in 1736 and was purchased by paranormal enthusiast Cory Heinzen in 2019 for under $440,000.

‘One of the most famous haunted houses in the United States’

This month, the house returned to the market with a price of $1,200,000. The house’s listing for sale states that the buyer will have the opportunity to “have an extraordinary cultural history.” The Sotheby’s International Realty advertisement states, “1677 Round Top Road is one of the most notorious haunted houses in the United States, with the house rumored to be haunted by Bathsheba Sherman, who lived in the 1800s.”

Andrea Perron, who spent her childhood in the aforementioned house in 1970, wrote the “House of Darkness, House of Light” trilogy about her family’s paranormal experiences at home. The foundation of “The Conjuring” was laid with the search of the house by paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren.

“Frankly, if I had the money, I’d buy it myself to protect it. It’s always been my dream to get the farm back someday, but it’s not my dream to live on the farm; I don’t want to live there,” Perron told WJAR.
